About the Artist:

Science IS art! Five Dogs Art is a family that makes art together. While each member of the family has their own concentration, we are most recognized for our electricity art. We use reclaimed, discarded or other scrap wood to make jewelry and household decor. We then use 15,000 volts of electricity to burn uniquely beautiful and compelling fractals into some of the wood surfaces. Some of the items we make include pendant necklaces, wall art, sketchbooks, mirrors in various geometric shapes, barrettes, boxes, keychains, ornaments, wands, magnets and earrings. Our 2020 season saw the development of repurposed skateboard decks, decorative swords, pen knives, lathe- turned mushrooms, ukuleles and a variety of decorative boxes. Projects for 2021 include a few pieces of repurposed furniture, an electric guitar, succulent gardens and decorative bowls.

Chris is our lead engineer, creator of boxes and designer of mirrors. Jamie is chief safety officer and fine art student at Kutztown University, adding color to our fractals. Lydia is lead electricity wrangler and wand turner.
