About the artist:
“My name is Jon Rountree. I am an artist from South Carolina and a former Army paratrooper. After my time in the military, I moved to Savannah and started doing graffiti. Throughout the past few years I’ve been drifting over into the more legal side of the art world, doing all sorts of commissioned projects. I’ve painted everything from beer kegs to firearms. I’ve never been to art school and I don’t know if I will ever make it big as an artist, but I simply love making art and have no plans to stop.
When I first received this guitar, it wasn’t playable. After doing a little woodwork and adding some hardware from one of my own guitars, I threw some strings on it to jam out. (It is a fun guitar to strum but still has major flaws, best if used as wall art) I painted it with spray paint and acrylic paint markers.
I’m thankful that I was able to leave the military relatively unscathed. However, I realize that not everyone can say that. I hope whoever gets this will carry on making music with it and that it helps them.” -Jon Rountree
