About the Artist:

Dan Sampson was born in Colorado Springs, CO where he currently resides with his wife and family. He found his passion for the arts at a young age, finding inspiration from artists like Basquiat, Warhol, Hopper, and certainly Bob Ross. Dan received a few tubes of oil-based paint and previously loved paint brushes from his great grandmother and began to devote time to his new love for painting.

Dan would find encouragement and motivation throughout high school and late teen years with great mentorship and enjoying some successes at area art shows including "Wunderkind" at the Business of Arts Center in Manitou, CO in early 2000.

Dan would go on to be accepted at Parsons School of Design at The New School University in New York City to begin his career as an artist. However, due to circumstances beyond his control, would not be able to attend. This would eventually pave the way for a successful career in the paint & coatings industry, but at some cost.

The pursuit of a professional corporate career, while lucrative, did not leave much time or energy for indulging his passion for painting. In late 2020, after what amounts to a 20-year hiatus from the canvas and brush, Dan, along with the unwavering commitment and support from his wife has decided to re-ignite what was inadvertently extinguished so many years ago.
